The Robin and the Angel

The Robin and the Angel

Long ago in a land near us all was

a place called The Robin's Nest and

everyone there was happy, and there was a papa

Robin, a mama RObin and six little Robins and

they all had their chores to do to keep them

busy and happy.some of the older Robins left

the Nest because they played and got married

the rest had to stay in the Nest until they

were old enough to fly into the velveeta

skies and start their own nest and have

little Robins to raise. Then, on a cold

feburary morning, one of the Robins fell out

of the Nest and never woke and the Robins

tried to nurse it back to good health but

nothing worked and some of the Robins and

some neighborhood Robins said " Hey,why don't

we tie the two wings together?" and the other

Robins said "that wont work."
then a thunder roars and a beautiful white

Dove decends from Heaven to see the hurt

little Robin and said "Hi Greg, you had a

little fall, but you ere going to be fine" "How do you know me?" "God told me all about you and sent me to get you to be with him and you will like it there in Heaven and you will learn to be an angel like me and help others too." "OBoy!" said Robin Greg, that sounds like fun! I is fun, said Dove George. when the Robins At the Nest heard greg was in good hands, they and all the neighborhood rejoiced and were vere happy.

God has his own plans for us and wants us to be nice and kind to others..take the Golden Rule as the best Example

However, I am a little sad that he doesn't need Kenny the Pooh much anymore :( LOL. Just kidding. You look good in those pajamas.

Recipes

Quick Mix
8 c. self-rising flour*
1.5 c. nonfat dry milk
1.5 c. shortening

Mix flour and dry mild in a large bowl. Cut shortening into flour mixture with 2 knives or a pastry blender (recommended) until mixture resembles small peas. Store the Quick Mix at room temperature in clean, dry jars or plastic containers with well-fitting lids. Keep tightly covered.

Servings: 12 to 14 cups

*If using all-purpose or plain flour, add 1/4 c. baking powder and 1 Tbls. salt.

Biscuits

2 c. Quick Mix*
1/3 c. water

Carefully stir water into mix to form a stiff dough that can be removed from mixing bowl in a single lump. Plane dough on lightly floured surface and knead briefly, using extra flour to keep dough from stiching to fingers or board. Pat or roll dough to half-inch thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter or drinking glass dipped in flour. Place biscuits on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 425 degrees F until light brown, 10 to 12 minutes.

Makes 12 biscuits if thin, 6 if a little thicker (like mine).

Relay for Life

Sandra has been cancer free for 5 years!!! That is wonderful. Lastnight was the first time I have ever participated in Relay for Life and it was a very moving experience. To see all of those survivors, some of them have been cancer free for 40 years. That to me is a miracle from God. Sandra, you are my Hero. I will walk 3 miles again for you anytime!!! Wish you all could have been there. I also walked in memory of Donald.

Anthony

If you havent had the pleasure of hearing Anthony play the piano yet, you are in for a treat. God has blessed this young man with a special talent. I think Donald whispered into God's ear and told him to give his musical talent to Anthony. He can play the piano by ear like Donald could.

Anthony, I really loved hearing you play!

Mother's Day 2008

Mother's day was great today. Everyone couldn't be together at one time, but I think mama had a great mother's day. Especially since Joey can get up and sit with us some, and he can walk. That is a miracle. Mama got lot's of cards, 3 house coats, and a new set of bed sheets. Her best gift I think was a Hand Full of Weeds.
Hope you all had a great Mother's Day!! Love you all, Kendra

Joey's Therapy

Joey has had lots of ups and downs. Had he not been so sick with his liver, he would have had this therapy at Trinity.... but everything is in GOD's time. Ray has been so much help getting Joey to this point, helping him every time he could. Now the therapist are working with him and I think this is exactly what Joey needs at this time. The first picture is Joey walking around the table and back to bed.

Today Joey made it to the bathroom.....the first time since he had the stroke.

I am so proud of you Joey and I love you.

Ever heard of "Military Neck"?

Well, I hadn't until I went back to the ER here in town last week. After having an X-Ray, the ER Dr. brought them back to me to show me that my biggest problem is having no cervical curve that you should have. He didn't do much for me and said that it wasn't good but it wasn't totally bad either. I have been searching the internet trying to find out what to do about it. No luck yet. I went for my second massage yesterday and told her about everything and she said she had heard of it. She worked really hard on my neck muscles and showed me new ways to sleep. She said I might have to keep adjusting until I find the right position. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

UAB is the worst hospital EVER!

Yesterday, around 3, I was cooking chili and wasn't doing anything to injure myself but while I was at the stove, stirring my chili, my neck started hurting so badly and I couldn't move it. So, I call my doctor but she wasn't in and the lady I talked to told me to go to the Emergency Room. So I called Judy to ask her to drive me since I couldn't really turn to look and stuff and she said she would.
I went to Judy's, she, Dennis, and I left around 6 to go to UAB ER. We got there a little before 7 last night.
We sat in the waiting room until 10ish before they called me back. When the doctor came in, he started asking me what happened, blah, blah, blah. Then he says, "Well, it sounds like muscle problems so just start taking double dose of the Flexeril and I'll have a nurse come in with the pain medication prescription."
He left the room. The longer I sat there, the more I thought about what all had happened and the more ticked off I got. With UAB supposedly being one of the "best" around, I thought, 'shouldn't they have looked into it further than just throwing some pills at me and letting me go'. So I put on my clothes and left. I didn't wait around for a prescription. If I had wanted pills, I wouldn't have driven all that way to get them. I could have gotten that here in Sylacauga.
I'm still hurting and still can't move my head around. I plan on going to the chiro today and paying a little money to get him to try and pop it back into place. Usually, when I have done that in the past, it has only made it worse but I don't know what else to do. I am also calling my so-called doctor today and telling her what happened and cancelling my appointment with her for next week because she is going to do the same thing. I don't have the gas money to waste to go there for them to not do anything for me.
I just wanted to post this, hoping that alot of people will search for stuff about UAB and I am hoping it will show up in the searches.
Hope the rest of you have better luck and a better day than I have.

Let's all Pray for Mama

Let's all really pray hard for Mama to get better. She hasn't felt good in a really long time. I don't know about ya'll, but I am ready to see her feeling better. I hate to see her like this. I don't know what we would all do without her, she, in my opinion, is the Matriarch of our family, so to say. So let's just really pray hard for her this week, so maybe she will start to feel better.

Love you all,
Kendra

Short sermon by Charlie

SHORT SERMON MATTHEW chapter 26

14: Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the chief priests,

Notice how Satan always uses those closest to us whenever possible, to betray our love and trust. Judas was a disciple, not simply a stranger who was willing to turn in Jesus for financial gain. Also notice, Judas went directly to the chief priests as he knew they would do whatever it took to get rid of Jesus. The very priests who should have welcomed the Messiah, were the actually the ones plotting His destruction!

15: And said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.

Judas was out for the money, and he was more than willing to betray Jesus for financial gain. The priests were more evil than Judas, as they were willing to “make a deal” to do away with the very One Who had come to die for their sins.

16: And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

Judas played the faithful disciple, waiting for the right moment to betray the Lord.

17: Now the first day of the feast of unleavened bread the disciples came to Jesus, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

Jesus was a Jew, so He honored and kept the Old Testament laws and feasts etc. He was the PASSOVER, yet He partook of the Passover Himself!

18: And he said, Go into the city to such a man, and say unto him, The Master saith, My time is at hand; I will keep the passover at thy house with my disciples.

Jesus knew what He was about to endure on the cross, and He knew about other future events too. He knows how we will respond in advance, when He sends someone our way. Hopefully, we will never say NO to those the Lord directs to us. (for any reason)

19: And the disciples did as Jesus had appointed them; and they made ready the passover.

The disciples did what they were told in this regard, including Judas. Many believers follow Jesus to a point, but “sell Him out” for something they desire. (drugs, sex, alcohol, worldly pleasures, etc.) I saw an article stating the 30 pieces of silver were worth about $10,000.00, which is a fair sum of money. (but Jesus, and your soul are PRICELESS) Many would betray Jesus for a few moments of pleasure, or things with little or no value. Ask yourself, is anything worth selling out Jesus for? Any short term gain or temporal pleasure, will assure you a place in the lake of fire in the end.

20: Now when the even was come, he sat down with the twelve.

Notice Jesus still included Judas as one of the twelve, and allowed him to sit at His table.

21: And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

Jesus let Judas and the other disciples know He was aware of the fact, He was being betrayed. If anyone believes their sins are a SECRET matter, they are deceiving them self.

Matthew 27:3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

Judas did repent for betraying Jesus, but his repentance was not followed up with trust, belief, and faith, in God. He knew he had sinned, but instead of seeking forgiveness he tried to make atonement for his sin by returning the 30 pieces of silver he had sold Jesus for.

While we should all repent and try to do right toward those we sin against, ONLY JESUS can follow up and forgive our sins. Until we are covered in His blood, our sins are present in life and will keep us under condemnation. Judas practiced a form of salvation based upon works, and lost his soul in the process. We need to repent and ask God for His GIFT of salvation, or we will remain in our sins for eternity…
